ID Practice
For this assignment, we were required to choose a shoe or type of footwear and produce three 1:1 white triplex cardboard models of the chosen shoe. Submission 1: Triplex Replica, Submission 2: Triplex section model and Submission 3: Triplex shoe mold. The models needed to similar to the original muse as possible, including minor details like split lines, vent holes lacing and stitching as well. Only white triplex board was used and glues.
Reference Shoe:
Vans Old Skool
Submission 1:
For this submission we had to create 1:1 replica of our chosen footwear. In my case I chose the Vans Old Skool low tops. It was my first time creating a triplex replica shoe and it did come withs its challenges. I cut a lot of the piece very unevenly and lost a lot of important time doing details like to bottom of my shoe. All-in-all, it needs more work, mor detail and cleaning up.
Submission 2:
In the case we were instructed to create a triplex model of again but this we had to cut it in half - not literally. This project was on the simpler side, and it honestly took half the time:). Although it posed some challenges like neatness. In this one I tried adding way more detail than the last well trying my best to even get the stitching and the different patch details from the shoe. It worked out in the end but yet again neatess was an issue.
Submssion 3
And lst but not least the final triplex project. For this we were instructed to create a mold like replica of our shoes. Where it cme to planning, we were adviced to use our half shoe. The triplex was to have pieces cut out and pasted in ment to create an extrusing effect. Mine on the other lacked such detail because I failed to understand that simple concept. I still like how it came out but it lacks the details that make a Vans shoe  recognizable.
